Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen!…Good morning Kutaisi and Georgia!…Today is the 27th of March, International Day of Theatre and despite the hard times we are facing, on behalf of the Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Professional State Drama Theatre, I still would like to congratulate this International professional Day, first of all "Her Majesty" – Georgian Theatre, our big family, our home, our colleagues, our friends…I Wish to all the people of Georgian theatre health, unity, spiritual steadfastness and restored working process, updated rehearsals, crowded halls and great creative success!Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Professional State Drama Theatre congratulates its twin theatres 27th of March! For now we have 6 twin theatres across Europe, from different countries and we have signed the Memorandums of Cooperation and Friendship with them. We congratulate our twin theatres this special day and hope, that the active policy of exchanging tours, which we have established last year and brought so much joy to our audiences will be realized in September – October, 2020 as successfully as it was in 2019 and will continue for the decades.Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Professional State Drama Theatre congratulates European Theatre Convention on International Day of Theatre, the largest network of public theatres in Europe, which has about 50 members from over 25 countries and we were honored to become one of the Full Members of ETC at an International Theatre Conference, which took place in Amsterdam last November. Congratulations to all theatres of ETC – out friends, our colleagues, our partners. We are confident that despite the great difficulties, Convention Management will be able to hold those important events throughout the year, which are so necessary for us and brings us all together.Probably no one will bear me a grudge, including our twin theatres and the ETC member theatres, if I, on behalf of the Meskhishvili Theatre and I will allow myself to say – on behalf of the entire Georgian Theatre community, the Union of Theatre Workers of Georgia congratulate this special day the theatres of Italy and Spain – countries with great theatrical traditions and culture. There is a big problem in the whole world, but they are in the most difficult situation right now and need our support most of all. They are our colleagues, our friends and as a matter of principle according to The Jungle Book by Kipling, we are of the same blood, their pain is our pain. We believe, that the planet will withstand this ordeal, that all theatres around the world will return to their usual lifestyles, and the Italian and Spanish theatres will continue to give a lot of joy and happiness to the world with their great productions. Finally, we congratulate "His Majesty" Kutaisi and its beloved citizens – our very first audience, on the International Theatre Day! The remarkable celebration of March 27, by the decision of the Union of Theatre Workers of Georgia, was to be held at the Meskhishvili Theatre in Kutaisi, regarding this great matter, that our theatre has become the Full Member of the European Theatre Convention. Yes, there should be a celebration in the city and in our theatre today, but we are facing another reality around the world right now. We will overcome this reality, we will get over all the difficulties of the given situation, and as soon as it happens, I, as an Artistic Director of the Meskhishvili Theatre and as the Deputy Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of Georgia promise you, that this celebration, which the City and the Theatre deserve for their joint hard work and great effort, will still be held here. We hope, that it will happen in the near future. However, we are not going to sit idle until this time comes and decided to start communication with our beloved audience in the form of theatrical reports. "Reportages from the Meskhishvili Theatre" – every day, except Monday, in the same regime, that the theatre works for the city, we'll post a video, a small theatre sketch on our website and Facebook page where our actors play, sing, read poems, tell tales for the little ones, fables, make a short excursion in the history of theatre and our country… We will try our best to make these reportages creatively versatile, interesting and varied and we'll continue like this until "His Majesty" the Audience enters the theatre doors again and the theatre returns to its magical world, which is called live connection with the viewers.Thank you very much! Once again I congratulate everyone on International Theatre Day, the whole Georgian Theatre, the World Theatre. Let the theatrical reports from Meskhishvili Theatre begin! Thank you for your attention!
