According to Georgian media, today, one of the most famous contemporary filmmakers in Georgia, Zaza Urushadze, passed away.
According to preliminary data, 53-year old Urushadze died because of a heart attack.
The most famous Urushadze’s film is ”Tangerines” was nominated for the Oscar 2015. In addition to his director’s career, he also worked a lot in cultural management: in 2002-2004, he headed the Georgian National Cinema Center, and after that, until September of this year, he headed the Georgian Film Academy.
